Strengthening organizational Performance

ABOUT ME

Tanya Carmichael

Tanya is a former pension fund executive and founder of a leadership coaching practice focused on strengthening organizational performance across the institutional investment ecosystem. She works with CEOs and leadership teams at pension funds, asset owners, private equity firms, portfolio companies, and advisory organizations that support institutional capital—helping them build the leadership capacity required to translate strategy into execution and reinforce cultures that sustain performance.

Her work is shaped by years operating inside complex investment organizations, where leadership choices—more than structure or strategy alone—determine outcomes over time. Tanya brings a systems lens to leadership challenges, supporting senior teams as they navigate complexity, transition, and growth with greater clarity and alignment.

Tanya previously served as Managing Director and Head of Global Funds, Equities at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she led a $12B private equity portfolio and a global investment team. She is a former Chair of the Board of the Institutional Limited Partners Association and served on the Private Equity Steering Committee of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. She currently serves as a Director of the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario and as an Operating Advisor of Featherlight Capital.

Tanya holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B./JD) from Western University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Rotman School of Management and is a BOS360 Certified Business Coach.
